[MenuItem] Responsive MenuItem component
Open, Stalled, MediumPublic

Description

Background/Goal

The size, spacing, and text styles of the MenuItem component should be adjusted when the component is displayed in a mobile web context. All in order to keep it consistent within its environment, and provide optimal usability.

This Figma frame contains the responsive design specifications for this component.
User stories

As a user, I need to be able to interact with a fully usable, responsive version of the dropdownMenu and its items on mobile.

Considerations

The current design specs (particularly font-size, line-height, paddings) might need to be adjusted as an outcome of T302889: Define the design system's approach to responsiveness.

Development considerations

TBD

Acceptance criteria (or Done)

  • The visual properties of the responsive version of the MenuItem component are fully specified

This Figma file contains the responsive design specifications for the menu item component.

I've moved this to the backlog since this component's responsive behavior really just depends on variation of font size between mobile and desktop, which is still being finalized as part of T302889

AnneT removed AnneT as the assignee of this task.May 5 2022, 1:17 PM
Sarai-WMDE changed the task status from Open to Stalled.Jun 2 2022, 9:40 AM

This task will be blocked until we define a consistent approach to responsiveness in Codex (i.e. when to trigger the responsive version of components, with generally greater padding and larger font size). I believe that this ticket is not critical for the initial release of TahS, if we evaluate it from the perspective of design and feature parity.
