What is the problem?
We are rolling out videojs as the only audio/video player in Wikimedia. It has been a beta feature for more than four years now.

This new feature brings many improvements and solves a lot of issues (including enabling playback of video in iPhone) but also might introduce new bugs or changes that some people might find undesirable. Unfortunately it's not possible to keep both players at the same time as the old player is using really old code that we can't maintain. It's also worth noting that it would be much easier to fix video player issues once we get rid of the old code which would simplify our codebase.
How can we help you?
We would love to have some way to ease the communication with the communities and explain certain choices with less friction while understanding the needs and fixing issues that can be fixed.
I would love a review of my announcements to "this is going to be deployed to your wiki soon" announcement.
What does success look like?
This rollout has happened without a big backlash.
What is your deadline?
There is a rough timeline in T248418: Roll out videojs as the only video/audio player on all Wikimedia wikis. Early March we will do the deployment on dewikivoyage, euwiki, frwiktionary, hewiki, ptwikiversity, srwiki, viwikibooks.
