Description

Environment

  • Platform: desktop
  • Wiki: mediawiki.org

Behavior

  1. Visit a page that contains links (e.g. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Edit_Discovery)
  2. Open VE to edit this page
  3. Click a link

Actual

  1. ❗️ The link dialog appears with the triangle part (▲) DISCONNECTED to the rest of the dialog:

Expected

  1. ✅ The link dialog appears within the triangle part (▲) connected to the rest of the dialog:

Event Timeline

Probably related to T258501/T299070, though those are more focused on the arrow being misaligned near the page edge. This is in a table cell, which could have its own alignment issues?

That said, I can't actually reproduce this on the page you linked to with the link you were using:

The change in background colour in your broken screenshot suggests the table is extending beyond the content area, whereas the popup is clipped to the content area.

Good call, @Esanders. During today's triage meeting, we confirmed what you mentioned above to be true.
