Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Please share your comments, questions, concerns, suggestions about the My Events wireframe, either as a comment on this task or directly in Figma:

My Events.png (1×2 px, 236 KB)

We are particularly interested in learning your questions/feedback about:

  • content of each page (what’s existent, what’s missing, what you don’t understand)
  • questions about behaviors of the different features
  • technical feedback
  • sub-pages you would be interested in us making wireframes on

We are not interested at this point in comments about the look and feel (unless these comments are from a technical/dev standpoint, especially if engineers feel a given feature is not possible).

Please check off your name here when done:

Event Timeline

  • Clarification: What does "calendar view" do? Is it the same view as T304742?
  • Clarification: I'd like to know more about the "gold contributor".
  • Eng: The list must be paginated. We talked about this at the last design workshop. The form at the top (search bar etc) would also look different, see e.g. here.
  • General: I fear that the "other events happening in ..." section may not be quite useful unless it's filtered in some way. Our events store is central, so you'd likely be seeing events that you don't care about (e.g. in other languages / countries).
  • What is "gold contributor"?
  • A thought about the Organizer/Participant labels on the events: I believe an action-based label will be clearer than role-based, i.e. Organizing/Participating instead of Organizer/Participant
  • To me, the goal of the "my events" page is not super clear -- is it about event discovery or even management? IMO it should be the latter, in which case I think we should only show events a user definitely cares about (i.e. events they are organizing or have signed up for). This would also make the "other events happening in ${month}" section feel a bit out of place. I also share @Daimona's concern about making the content of that section relevant to the user.
  • I like how it looks like!
  • What is "Gold contributor"?
  • I agree with Vanessa that would be better to change the labels from "Organizer/Participant" to "Organizing/Participating" on the events.
  • I would like to point out that any SPA features may not be possible to implement because we need to refresh the page almost each time a user does an action, so for example
    • if the user select an option on the select input filter it will not automatically filter, we would need a "Filter" button so the user can click on it and the entire page will be reloaded

@Daimona

  • Yes the calendar view would be a more expended view of what's proposed on the event center homepage
  • "Gold Contributor" is just a placeholder, it was mentioned on the prioritized sticky notes that we should include the concept of badges / gamification for the user so we were testing one way of presenting it
  • Thank you for the search bar reference, it will be changed
  • For the other events, indeed, maybe we can have a subpage dedicated to that

  • Got it for the label, it will be changed
  • Indeed the main goal is the event management, I'm gonna take another approach for the other events like maybe having a subpage dedicated to that

  • Thank you for the last point, we will implement the Filter button
