Images looks OK in preview, but disappears in the final document
Closed, InvalidPublicBUG REPORT

Description

Look at the "Beware of boundaries" section of the page at: https://en.wikiversity.org/w/index.php?title=Embracing_Ambiguity&oldid=2389171#Beware_of_Boundaries

Notice that the image does not appear, yet the text to include it does appear.

After removing the embedded wiki link, the image appears. See: https://en.wikiversity.org/w/index.php?title=Embracing_Ambiguity&oldid=2389180#Beware_of_Boundaries

Curiously, the image appears OK in the preview of the source edit in the first case, but disappears when the full page is viewed.

What happens?:

The image disappears on the full page

What should have happened instead?:

The image should appear

Event Timeline

I found the problem. The earlier rabbit-duck image was missing the ending square brackets. I assume that unresolved closing bracket persisted until the closing brackets on the wiki link were encountered. I fixed the missing closing brackets in the "labeling observations" section and then was able to restore the wikilink in the boundaries section. Thanks. In thinking back, it is now clear that the problem was context related, and the error occurred prior to the symptom. Thanks! --Lbeaumont (discuss • contribs) 12:26, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
