Users in the mobile web skin cannot currently access Special:Preferences from the user interface. The only way of reaching this page is to directly navigate to it or switch to desktop view. Preferences contains critical user account features such as changing passwords, updating email addresses, configuring notifications, and accessing anti-harassment features.

This task tracks the Moderator-Tools-Team's work to design and implement a new UI for Special:Preferences which makes it accessible on mobile web.

For followers - with T311720 now merged this is technically resolved, but I'm going to leave it open as an Epic while we continue working on actual improvements to the Preferences interface.

Although there are still some subtasks noting potential further improvements, the most impactful of our designs are now live! Users can find a link to preferences within the Settings menu in mobile, and Preferences has a new layout better suited to mobile devices.

T334260: GlobalPreferences formatting is broken on mobile is a blocker to us announcing this widely just yet - we should wait for the breakfix to deploy (this week's train) before doing so. This can be featured in the next Tech News, and we have village pump announcements ready to share.

Per "I'm going to rescope this task towards improving the design. Our team is unlikely to prioritise this work, however." of T334260: GlobalPreferences formatting is broken on mobile

I'm guessing this is thus no longer blocked to announce, and no further work is planned at this time ? In that case it should be announced and then the ticket can be closed right ?
