For our work on making Special:Preferences available on mobile, we want to track usage of this page on desktop and mobile. The PrefUpdate instrument logs an event when an allowlisted user preference is updated. The current allowlist is here. It currently contains a small handful of preferences, mostly relating to specific in-development features.

We want to add some common and important settings to this allowlist, so that we can monitor more typical usage.
