[WLD] defunct Wiki Loves Downloads?
Open, Needs TriagePublicBUG REPORT

List of steps to reproduce (step by step, including full links if applicable):
In 2020, I started to use the address list generator WikiLovesDownloads which, entering a category of data used in Wikimedia, would collect their addresses to download them. As I remember (March 2021), a .zip archive was provided containing one or multiple .txt files with the urls suitable for download e.g., with wget2.

By today, the service on still shows up with varying background images around the input mask. After less than 10 seconds, however, an additional page is shown ( which is blank and stays blank regardless of the input provided earlier. The example input suggested to get familiar with the tool (category «Birds at Weltvogelpark Walsrode») and selecting 2 lists to write (in case there were many illustrations) does not work, nor the category «Category:Steinerne Linsen, Guttaring», «Steinerne Linsen, Guttaring», or «Steinerne_Linsen,_Guttaring» (all input without the guillemets).

There is no progress monitor, nor visible advancement though there are no javascript blockers in the web browser (Firefox) used (separate user account in Linux Xubuntu).

+ is this hindered because there is a temporary problem (e.g., move of infrastructure the typical user isn't exposed)?
+ is the address list generator still maintained (the GitHub project does not feature an option to file for an issue report)
+ if no longer in service, may you recommend a tool to collect the download addresses for data from Wikimedia based on their assigned category? Preference were given to Python3 and bash for Linux Xubuntu/Linux Debian.
