Implement a export to wikitext option in Special:CheckUser
Open, MediumPublicFeature

Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):
Several tools provide a way to export wikitext (such as tables or other lists defined in wiki content) from the results generated from a check. This would allow CUs to export a list of accounts / IPs / UAs etc. that could be added to cuwiki (for cross-wiki coordination) or for any non-private info to the wiki (such as for sockpuppet investigations).

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):
A CU running a check currently needs to copy the username from the results either using the copy and paste feature in their browser or by manually typing the name. For small cases this doesn't take too much time, but for large cases the time this takes adds up.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
Would improve the time it takes to run a check.

Event Timeline

T311378 would allow exporting a table summarising the results to wikitext, so partly addresses this task.

Whether anything more than T311378 should be implemented for this task is up for debate. Options:

  • Allow full exporting of the results so that they could be copied and shown in the same format on another page. For example, the get edits results could be exported line for line or all the IPs from the get ips results with their tool links could he shown.
  • Add exporting of summary of results on the get IPs page by extending the tool added in T311378
  • other options (please detail if anyone has any)
