Allow administrators to ping more than 50 users
Closed, DuplicatePublicFeature

Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where): I would like administrators to be able to ping more than 50 users, similar to how they can submit API requests larger than 500.

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution): Certain messages that are larger than 50 users, but are more specific than a mass message.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?): See above.

Maybe there could be a user right for this?

This task lacks a use case - please always explain why exactly and specifically you want someone to spend time implementing and maintaining additional code complexity. Closing as duplicate.

For example, in an urgent situation (or maybe more generally) an administrator may need a user with certain technological knowledge, such a user could be found by massing pinging users on a list.

That does not sound like a useful approach to technically support

Why is it not useful?

Uncommon situation

I have had several times like that.

Could we have a global RfC for this on Meta?

You could try, but you would have to put up very good arguments, as the current limit exists for a reason.
