Steps to reproduce

Login
Go to Special:Preferences page
Click the Beta item in the user menu

Expected results

Menu should be dismissed and page should navigate to Beta

Actual results

Menu does not get dismissed

@ovasileva it doesn't make sense to do this ticket if we are doing T290463. If we do this, I suggests we decline T290463.

T290463: Remove beta option from user menu now declined, at least in the short term

Note this only happens on Special:Preferences page so this is a super super edge case. Is it really worth fixing?

Checked this again - so long as it opens the beta section in preferences as it does currently, I think it's okay
