Before we remove RESTbase, we need to put into place a proxy or rewrite, so the old endpoint URLs are backed by the new endpoints in core.
We can use the proxy to track clients that stil laccess the old URLs, so we can migrate them.

This is not needed the VE epic and will be tracked at T380348: [EPIC] Re-route services through RESTGateway and remove code from RESTBase codebase. Also, recently we have been create different tasks to achieve the overall goal. So I'm closing this as duplicate just to reflect reality.
