Description

Due to the gadget in question has been engulfed into the Twinkle gadget, all usage (30000 last count) should be forcefully disused. They should be replaced with Twinkle unless they off course already have that gadget activated.

Since the gadget is no longer defined in the gadget definitions, it should not be possible to load it via the preference. If it's still being loaded, that's probably a bug in Gadgets.

If it's not being loaded and it's not being listed in Special:Preferences, then the stray old setting is harmless.

That's not a solution, some people might not want all of Twinkle's features and simply "redirecting" to it is not possible.

Marking as an unconfirmed bug in Gadgets: test?

If it's not being loaded and it's not being listed in Special:Preferences, then
the stray old setting is harmless.

So not a Wikimedia bug.

The gadget is not being loaded, it simply doesn't exist anymore on Wikipedia. So not a Gadgets extension bug.

the stray old setting is harmless.

So not a Wikimedia bug.

I have no clue how that conclusion is drawn from the above. Can you elaborate? If the only complaint is that it is still a ghost entry in the user settings database (as Brion was saying) then it is not a complaint we need to worry about. It would be wonfix bug.

Moving back to Wikimedia and marking as invalid, because the original request appears to be misplaced and overloaded with confusion. This is outdated and hasn't been an issue for a quite a while.

If there is any desired action left to do, please create a new bug with clearer background information and motivation.
