Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

• Have more than 100 notifications, which will show a "99+" badge at the notifications icon.
• Click a link with a "markasread" URL parameter, as received in email notifications.

What happens?:

• The badge now shows "99" even when you have more than 99 notifications.
• This is only updated once you click the Echo icon. (Repeating the above will even make the number a "98" if you don't click it in between.)

What should have happened instead?:

• The badge should have stayed at "99+".
