Description

It points to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Help:Monolingual_text_languages but that page said nothing about lemma language code.

  1. go to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:NewLexeme
  2. enter non language to lexeme language
  3. see the (help) link that appears in the 'Spelling variant of the Lemma' field

Can someone create a page we can point to that'd be better? I'm happy to switch the link but need something to point it to.

Are we good with this alternative link? Then I think we can change it to that.

I don't think that page is helpful either. Other than fixing Special:NewLexeme (T284882), I can only suggest making a page that says "If the spelling variant field appears when creating a new lexeme, enter the language again. If the language isn't in the list, select "mis".".

I just noticed that this only changed the DevMessagesRepository – we still need to update the real message in WikibaseLexeme.git (i18n/en.json).

Alright, this will be deployed on November 30 – the Wikidata:Lexicographical data/Spelling variant page should have content by then!
