It points to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Help:Monolingual_text_languages but that page said nothing about lemma language code.

Can someone create a page we can point to that'd be better? I'm happy to switch the link but need something to point it to.
One of possible page is https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Lexicographical_data/Glossary.
I don't think that page is helpful either. Other than fixing Special:NewLexeme (T284882), I can only suggest making a page that says "If the spelling variant field appears when creating a new lexeme, enter the language again. If the language isn't in the list, select "mis".".
How about https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Lexicographical_data/Spelling_variant as the link target then? (Text to be added still.)
I just noticed that this only changed the DevMessagesRepository – we still need to update the real message in WikibaseLexeme.git (i18n/en.json).

Alright, this will be deployed on November 30 – the Wikidata:Lexicographical data/Spelling variant page should have content by then!
