CI build artifacts stored in the GitLab package registry can accumulate lot of disk space quickly. There are options to define cleanup policies on a project level. I was unable to find a configuration option to define a default cleanup policy for all projects (some more research is needed here). default_artifacts_expire_in which we set in gitlab-settings has no effect on package expiry.

We should evaluate if a default cleanup policy for the package registry can be implemented and what's a reasonable value, so existing projects and packages don't get disrupted.
