Add new boats to WLM 2022
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The new boats uploaded in the task above will be added to the WLM process.

Note that they have no unique identifiers provided by the museum. Since they are all on Wikidata, using the Q ID as identifier is a reasonable alternative.

This will include:

All the Wikidata items have a link to the boat's entry on the museum's website as "described as URL" so it can be used in the template.

Event Timeline

Discussing with @AxelPettersson_WMSE on how to include the new boats in the competition considering the differences with the old boats (the new ones don't have any unique ID's provided by the museum, the old ones use "signal"... mostly, some use a temporary wiki-ID instead).

In the end we're leaning towards using Q ID as an ID for all objects in the wlm-se-ship campaign as then they can use the same identifier system, and the old boats should all already have Wikidata items from an upload we did a couple years ago.

Change 828473 had a related patch set uploaded (by Lokal Profil; author: Lokal Profil):

[labs/tools/heritage@master] Switch se-ship identifier to Wikidata-QID

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/828473

I prepared a patch that will switch to using QID as identifier in the backend. Can be activated once Qids have been added to the old list.

Will the new list live in main namespace or the Wikipedia namespace?

There are a few of the old ships which use the WLM-ID property on Wikidata. This should probably be cleaned up.

Now done

Will the new list live in main namespace or the Wikipedia namespace?

Wikipedia namespace

I've updated the patch and marked is ready for review

Wikipedia namespace

Had to fix this issue as result of expanding to another namespace.

c:Template:K-Fartyg has been updated to support both Wikidata and signal. It was also migrated to the i18n translation mechanism and pre-existing translations were migrated.
