The monuments in the Paramaribo lists had (mostly) Wikidata items. What we have done includes:

• Merging a number of duplicates where a monument had 1) an item created based on the list and 2) another item created based on the Wikipedia article. A number of monuments with Wikipedia articles were affected by this.
• Linking a large number of Commons categories to appropriate Wikidata items.
• Assigning WLM ID to the Wikidata items of the monuments, based on the "object ID" provided by the local heritage authority.
• Creating / cleaning up items for the monuments in Lijst_van_monumenten_in_Suriname
• Creating items for new monuments that were not in any of the lists, based on data kindly provided by the local heritage authority.
• Creating a Wikidata structure for the competition which will enable adding SDC to the photos.

@Lokal_Profil has also provided some info on the technical aspects of categories etc needed to organize the photos in the competition.
