Mindful of T305318: Out of iThenticate credits — any comments @MusikAnimal? I imagine simple.wiki won't be using that many credits?

Looks like simplewiki gets in the neighborhood of about ~20,000 edits a month: https://stats.wikimedia.org/#/simple.wikipedia.org/contributing/user-edits/normal|bar|2-year|(page_type)~content*non-content|monthly. That's a decent amount, though not every edit necessarily goes to iThenticate, I believe. So long as people are actively using CopyPatrol, I think it's worth it. The hope is in the near future we will be given many more credits to allow us to add a number of other languages, in which case none of this an issue.

I say we give this a go and see how the usage holds up! I'll try to look into this tonight.

The bot is currently down (T292343). Once that's fixed I will get simplewiki added.

Put together https://github.com/wikimedia/CopyPatrol/pull/144 while on the train today, ensure if adding simple-wikipedia to the i18n files is needed though... :-)

Thank you! And apologies for taking so long to get to this.

One thing that didn't occur to me is if the bot that powers CopyPatrol has any knowledge about the special language code simple (which of course is not a real language). I've got the cron running against that now and am monitoring for any results. This may take a while to conclude whether or not it works, and if it doesn't, hopefully it's a simple fix to the bot.

After we've confirmed that's working, I'll merge your PR which should add the dropdown to the CopyPatrol interface.

MusikAnimal assigned this task to TheresNoTime.

As you've clearly noticed, the bot did work and I see users have already been clearing out the backlog! https://copypatrol.toolforge.org/simple/?filter=all

I've merged the PR to add the localization for the label in the dropdown. With that I think we're all set.

Closing as resolved as this doesn't really need QA.
