Decimal separator in Thank you email confirmation fr-FR, es-ES-, it-IT, nl-NL since end of August 2022

Description

Hello,

This is following a ticket received by Donor Relations (#1176405), where the donor, Dutch speaking from the Netherlands, complained about the number format, ie. 10.40 rather than 10,40.

This was raised in the past and solved for all relevant countries (see previous phabtask: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T293275).

However, checking multiple Civi records over the past two months for donors from France-French, Italy-Italian, Spanish-Spain and Dutch-Netherlands, the number format is switched back to dot/period/full stop instead of comma format since end of August.

Could you please check and update the number format so that the dot is replaced by a comma instead as decimal separator?
For instance: 2.345,90 instead of 2,345.90.

Thanks a lot!

Event Timeline

Per the fr-tech office hours today, adding additional info:

We would like to have, at a minimum, the frFR fix done before France banner launch Oct 4

frFR current display in the TY email:
2.345,90

should be
2,345.90

We can not adjust this ourselves b/c it's pulling from {$amount} (I think :)

Thank you!

XenoRyet moved this task from Sprint +1 to Current Sprint on the Fundraising-Backlog board.

Sorry, correction: the current display for frFR in the TY email is 2,345.90 and should be 2.345,90. It should be comma for decimals and dot for thousands instead of what is currently displayed. Thank You!

@TomaszGorski - can you keep an eye on whether there is any change from today's outage going forwards. There was some change in the locale handling in the CiviCRM code- although I still need to work through & check how we are interacting with it

Hi y'all, I've just seen on Civi two donations made this morning from frFR, and the format is 2,00 €. I suppose all good for France/French! TY Eileen and Thea!
