This project is a collaboration between the Growth and Fundraising teams at the Wikimedia Foundation.
During this project, we leverage existing fundraising activities to ask readers and donors to create accounts.

This Epic contains follow up work to expand this account creation "call to action" on donor Thank You Pages to more languages.

Hypothesis:

If we encourage donors and readers to create accounts, they will try editing and contribute in a constructive way.

Research:Newcomer Experience Pilot Project- Thank You Pages and Thank You Banners

Background:

The Newcomer Experience Pilot project tested several different ways to increase account creation and activation.

One newcomer experience pilot test was to add a call-to-action to donor Thank You pages:

Donors are a part of our community who have given to the Wikimedia movement financially. We believe that some of them have the potential to also give to the movement through contributing to the wikis. In this epic, we will test hypotheses around how we might engage donors into becoming new editors. (T293695)

This test was only conducted in a few regions / languages, but showed promise:
~29,000 Registrations, ~1,300 Constructive Activations (defined as editing within 24 hours of registration and that edit not being reverted within 48 hours).
