Document preparation of Queering Wikipedia 2023 Conference (hybrid event) - Task 2.2
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

This is the second task of 3 for T319310. It is aimed at getting familiar with research and publishing on Meta wiki.

Read through Meta wiki page WikiProject remote event participation with focus on documentation and then read its Documentation page. Read some of the linked examples of hybrid events like Wikimedia_Summit_2022.

Based on understanding of structure and info needed, create a simple text document on https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/ that would serve as notes for Queering Wikipedia 2022 Meeting.

If you have done some work and have open issues get in touch by sending us a link to your page and documentation page you just made (ideally by chat, email if a must). Once you are happy with your work make sure to register it as a contribution on the Outreachy website (https://www.outreachy.org/outreachy-december-2022-internship-round/communities/wikimedia/#hybrid-event-production-for-queeringwikipedia-2023)!

We will send you a replies as soon as possible on the talk page for the contribution or in chat.

OK - was not sure if they needed to be checked first by Outreachy coordinator

hello,@Zblace sir, quick question: during reading`` WikiProject remote event participation`` we have to understand hybrid events like Wikimedia_Summit_2022 process. Based on
our understanding. Do we have to write things in etherpad ? did I understand well ? if I do not understand please clarify a little more. and when do we have to submit it notes ? thanks

Hi! Yes you need to understand structure of the document and replicate it on Etherpad. You can pre-fill the content that you already know, rest leave empty for future updates.

By the way just using @Zblace is enough, no need for sir ;-)

Hi, @Sahitya_yadav_1. Since you're already working on task 2.1, I think I will start this one, okay? Tell me if you want to switch or if you need any help on yours!

ok . do that. I am working on 2.1 task

Hi, @Zblace! I did a first draft of the documentation based on the recommended sources and the information I have at the moment. I put -- for details I don't have and * for info I'm not sure about. You can check out here.

It looks good. Would be ideal if you also copy the basic markup and simulate it (with bold) so that style also resambles a bit (etherpad is simple but just a bit). Next week on 21st and 22nd we will do info events and you would be able to fill in more info.

looks nice,

@Zblace here is the link to my first draft for task 2.2. Kindly let me know what you think.

Oh, okay, I updated it with your suggestions and will wait for the info that's about to come. Also, if anyone else wants to contribute and edit my etherpad document you can feel free to (if it's not a problem for the mentors, sure). :)

Please see the updated task description with a new link.

If this task requires no more work, please help change its status to resolved. If there is remaining work, moving any pending items to a new task and closing this would be ideal, as Outreachy Round 25 workboard would soon be archived now that the internship is over.

We can close it in few weeks...not done just yet.

@Aklapper you were not consulting me if I would take the task, while you warn others not to do that. Double standards?

Zblace removed Zblace as the assignee of this task.May 7 2023, 6:17 AM

@Zblace: In that case, please define who exactly is "we" if "we can close it in few weeks", as tasks should have an *active* project tag assigned (so tasks can be found) and as Outreachy Round 25 is over and its project tag will soon get archived. You created this task && requested it to stay open, thus I assigned it to you. Thanks.

@Aklapper if you do this so that task can be found rest assured both @Andrerodriguex and I have it in mind, it is just not perfect time to deal with this in the week before event in the task. Thank you for your understanding.

Closing this task as Outreachy-25 finished three months ago and this task is tagged with Outreachy-25 only. (If this task should remain open, feel free to reopen and add an active project tag so this task can be found on a corresponding workboard - thanks!)
