Translate extension doing page translation should tag edits to to the language subpage for RC filtering
Closed, DuplicatePublicFeature

Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):

For a wiki like mediawiki.org using page translations, there is an option to hide translations in recent changes. This hides things in the Translations: namespace, but not the subpage of the original page.

For example, it would hide the edit to Translations:Template:Main page/20/lzh‎ but not Template:Main page/lzh‎.

Admittedly, many people might be interested in the template subpage, but not the Translations: namespace edit. However as a monolingual english speaker, I am interested in neither.

I would really like to have an option to hide both of these types of edits.

I think hiding all things that look like a language subpage would probably meet my needs, although it might be more properly correct to only do it for pages managed by translate. One potential solution for the latter would be to have Translate extension add an edit tag to all such language subpages so that they can be filtered. A solution for the former might be to remove the namespace filter in TranslateRcFilter::translationFilter on wikis with wgEnablePageTranslation enabled.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
Allow people to see the pages they are interested in in recentchanges. Especially for wikis with high amount of translate traffic, and low amount of other types of edits.
