Feature summary
In the visual editor of German WP, I can use the cite ("Belegen") function with a "Reuse" ("Weiterverwenden") variant.
In the 2017 Wikitext editor I would like to use the cite function as well, but re-use is *not* active (grayed out).
Use case(s)
- I begin with editing an article by text editor. In the title bar of the editor, there are functions to link, cite and so on.
- I click on cite ("Belegen") and get a dialog with three tabs: Automatic, Manual and Re-use ("Weiterverwenden").
- Tabs Automatic, Manual are enabled, tab "Weiterverwenden" is disabled :-(
- I expect a function here which shows a list of existing references, so that I can select one to be copied in the same way the visual editor does
Benefits
I want to have the same functionality for references in visual and text editor, so that it is not necessary to change the type of editor if I want to use a references function.
In large articles, this function is helpful in text editor to get an overview of the existing references which can be reused.
