Improve Students and Instructors user experiences on Wiki Education Dashboard(/training) by having an option of "listen to audio instead"
Open, LowestPublicFeature

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):
The Wiki Education Dashboard is web application that supports Wikipedia education assignments, edit-a-thons, and other editing projects. It provides data and course management features for groups of editors - instructors, students and others - who are working on Wikipedia, Wikidata and other Wikis. This project focuses on adding an audio option to the training modules on the Wiki Education Dashboard. So that a user( Student or Instructor) may have the option of reading through the module or listening to a recorded audio of the same module.

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):
This project proposal is a not as a result of a problem I found, but an enhancement that I believe will make the user experience better. I had a done a course on LinkedIn learning and once I was done I subscribed to the instructors newsletters updates on various topics. The first one I received had an option to play audio instead of reading through the document. And in listening to that I found it better and understood more on the topic. This was a nice feature that makes me want to do the same for other users. And sometimes a user might be too tired to read where listening is preferred.
This project may also enhance the user experience for persons who are visually impaired persons.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
To improve the user experience of users hence improving productibility.
To also make the platform friendly to persons with visual impairment.

Thanks Boyani. That's a potentially interesting idea, but I don't know whether any open source text-to-speech engines are good enough to provide a good listening experience — especially for the sometimes-technical content of the training modules. I'm unlikely to prioritize a project like this, although if you know more about how this could be implemented, I'm interested to hear details.

Thank Ragesoss you for your feedback. I'll look into it more and give you
details. But for now I would like to make more contributions first. Thank
