Remove columns in UniversalLanguageSelector
Closed, DuplicatePublicFeature

Description

Currently the UniversalLanguageSelector displays languages in 4 columns. This uses a lot of horizontal space, and makes the list difficult to scroll through. The single column noscript fallback in Vector 2022 is much easier to navigate for forgoing the filter. This request was prompted by this post at the en.wiki technical village pump, which says that navigating to find a language in the ULS is a pain.

@Izno, I forgot to set the parent task, but I'm not sure that this is a duplicate. Implementing this would resize the box to a single column.

I expect that request for the Javascript part of ULS will be declined then; there's no strong motivation for using fewer columns especially with a search bar. As currently exists there is a single column version without Javascript. (How that interacts with Vector 2022 might be interesting, but that's not what the original request at VPT appears to care about.)

Is there something else being requested that I'm not getting?

I didn't understand that the columns were (kind of?) sorted by language script; there's definitely no motivation for this.
