Standardize the layout of SPA tools
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

Problem

The layouts of the SPA tools Mismatch Finder, Query builder and Item quality evaluator should follow similar visual specifications in order to be consistent. Nevertheless, they display some key misalignments that should be corrected. The issues are mainly related to vertical spacing, typographic styles, footers and headers (or absence of).

This umbrella task aims at collecting quick fixes that will solve the big stroke inconsistencies between the mentioned SPA tools. Specific fixes are documented as subtasks.

Acceptance criteria

  • Mismatch Finder, Item Quality Evaluator and Query builder display similar layouts (same header, overall similar vertical spacing, same footer) as specified in the individual subtasks

Event Timeline

Comment from Michael: going forward it would be good to think about how we can reuse one standard design and make changes only once instead of copying the changes into each application.

Agreed. That standard design for SPA exists and was applied to the Mismatch Finder. Unfortunately, the need for it was detected only right after the Query Builder and the Item Quality Evaluator were done, thus the needed adjustments. If the comment is more related to the technical implementation of said standards, then the good news is that, in the future, Codex will provide a set of reusable grids and layouts that should simplify the creation of similarly structured pages.
