Updated message for 2022 English fundraising in iOS app
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi, iOS team! You already implemented T322950, the initial execution of an English fundraising message to run in the iOS app this month in tandem with our on-Wiki fundraising campaign.

We've made many improvements to the messaging this month and I wanted to send you our new appeal in case there's capacity on your side to update the content. We'll be fundraising through midnight on NYE, so we still have around 1/3 of the campaign left; and the end of year push is a typically high-performing time.

Here's the html in codeblocks, including some light styling on the header elements + signature. TY!

Wikipedia is not for sale.
A personal appeal from Jimmy Wales

Please don’t scroll past this 1 minute read. Today, as 2022 draws to a close, I humbly ask you to reflect on the number of times you used the Wikipedia app this year, the value you got from it, and whether you’re able to give $2 back. The Wikimedia Foundation relies on readers to support the technology that makes Wikipedia and our other projects possible. Being a nonprofit means there is no danger that someone will buy Wikipedia and turn it into their personal playground. If Wikipedia has given you $2 worth of knowledge this year, please give back. Thank you. — Jimmy Wales, founder, Wikimedia Foundation
