Special:Nuke doesn't work with IPv6 addresses
Closed, ResolvedPublicBUG REPORT

There was a small series (only 5) of spam pages on the Wikimedia Incubator created by 2409:4052:2E2C:B90E:0:0:BACB:2C12. Since they have no other contributions, I simply clicked the "mass delete" link in their contributions, but Special:Nuke couldn't find any new pages by that IP.

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Create a couple of pages anonymously using an IPv6 address
  • With an admin account, go to Special:Contributions for that IPv6 address
  • Click "mass delete"
  • (Alternatively, just go to Special:Nuke and paste the IPv6 address there)

What happens?:
No pages are found

What should have happened instead?:
The tool should find the pages created by that IP.

Software version (skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

Special:Nuke for an IPv6 address that has current contributions (they won't be present any more after I've submitted this task, I'm deleting them manually.)

Special:Nuke for an IPv4 address that has current contributions, for comparison.
