Tweak Autocomplete search results on the Mongolian Wikipedia
Open, Needs TriagePublic1 Estimated Story PointsFeature

Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):
Autocomplete search results on the Mongolian Wikipedia should show more results. Due to Mongolian names having the structure "LastName FirstName", and everyone being referred to by their FirstName exclusively, when people search for figures by their FirstName, no results show up

For example, Мөрдорж is a well-known composer, but nothing is shown in the results:

Users need to click-through and get the results, where it is there at #1

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):
Searching for a person on the Mongolian Wikipedia doesnt provide me with anything in the autocomplete results much of the time.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):

Tweaking these search results would improve many users' user experience by halving the amount of clicks they need to get info. Also the current state portrays the Mongolian Wikipedia as having fewer articles.

Event Timeline

If I'm not mistaken mn wikipedia does use defaultsort, and for instance the page Лувсанжамбын Мөрдорж does have a default sort set to Мөрдорж, Лувсанжамбын. Several years ago we worked on adding suggestions based on defaultsort to solve this exact same issue (see T134978 and T145427), there was no consensus in whether this approach would benefit all the wikis so we de-prioritized this work. I'd be tempted to try to enable this feature for this wiki unless there are strong reasons not to.

I don't see why not (unless it breaks everything), that sounds like a great solution!
