@AndrewTavis Thank you so much for your willingness to mentor :)) It looks like a great project. With fewer Outreachy slots, I'd recommend we promote this via GSoC. You can keep the good first issues on GitHub itself, no need to duplicate.

I've got a few suggestions/questions:

• Could you make the task title a bit more specific? For example: "Add menus and more keyboards to Scribe.."
• Is adding new keyboards and menus (in the Figma file) three months of work for a new contributor? How long would adding one keyboard take?
• Do you have a second mentor in mind for this project? We recommend that each project has two mentors, with at least one mentor with a technical background.

Task name updated! How long it'd all take is a good question. For me adding a keyboard takes a couple days, but then for a new contributor they'd have lots of code they'd need to read through to understand the process, and would likely need to learn things like WDQS or research the grammar a bit (I'd of course help with all this). My assumption is one week per keyboard, and the menu I'd assume would be two months of work as they're taking a single page app and turning it into a multi page with lots of options. If they finish it earlier, then there's of course more that could be added like adding testing to what it is that they made.

Second mentor is something that we don't really have :( I definitely would be the main person, but I could schedule some calls with the designer for the project and some of the other team members.

Do you have a suggestion of which mailing lists I should send it to and how best to phrase it all? Does replying to that thread send it out? :)

@AndrewTavis All this sounds great to me in terms of the scope of the project! Ideally, there is a second person who is willing to be a backup contact then as you are already the primary technical mentor. Do you think there is someone in your team who would be willing to be a point of contact?

And, for the message to the mailing list, you can see what other mentors are posting for reference here.

I'll check in with some people and can definitely figure something out. Either the designer or another contributor would be willing to :) I'll send off the message tomorrow and will check in to make sure that all's good!

As a component of this will be adding languages, I wanted to add the table that the Lexicographical data team made on the coverage for certain languages as a reference for later:

We can use this as a reference for which languages we eventually add. We can use the Scribe-Data language check query to derive coverage of a language with an eventual candidate and let them choose which ones are of interest :)

@Aklapper, let me know if it's ok for me to close the tasks that are associated with GSoC applications that were not accepted :)

@AndrewTavis: I think non-accepted applications should have their task status set to declined but @srishakatux should know the workflow better than I do (and who is supposed to perform this, and where this is documented in the workflow). :)
