Archive / update tasks and documentation around #Product-Infrastructure-Team-Backlog
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/profile/2726/ states that Product-Infrastructure-Team-Backlog-Deprecated is deprecated and superseded by Content-Transform-Team.
Thus please:

Thanks a lot for allowing folks to better understand what team is what in WMF!

Event Timeline

@Aklapper, please note that we are flagging this project as deprecated to discourage people from using it; we are not ready to archive it yet until we determine what to do with each task so tagged, but we can concentrate on that once the backlog stops growing.

That said, we do need to update (or probably delete) Herald rule H228. We will make a decision on that shortly.

@JMcLeod_WMF: Hi, any news to share what's the plan regarding codebase project tags, team project tags, and Herald rules? (Asking as actions like https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T332519#8721391 don't look like the best use of time.) Thanks in advance!

@SLopes-WMF Hi, could you please comment what's the intended cleanup / migration plan here when it comes to Phabricator tasks, rules and tags? Thanks a lot!

MSantos subscribed.

@Aklapper the plan is to keep tasks in their component related board and when we plan to work in them we just move it to Content-Transform-Team-WIP.

Slowly I'm clean-up that board, but there's no harm in just removing Product-Infrastructure-Team-Backlog-Deprecated and every PI related tag.

I am a bit lost on how to push this task forward. Is there something I can do about that? Who should be the assignee of this task? cc/ @Aklapper

Sorry, I missed the previous comment. I assume I could go ahead with the stuff listed above?

Yes, please. Thanks for helping us pushing this forward.

@MSantos: Thanks. What is supposed to happen with open tasks at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/query/SABMqACpu.00/#R which have no other tags?
