Description

A recent event showed that LTAs are getting smarter and that wikitech will be an eventual target that is not an SUL based wiki makes things a little harder for a response. Giving several LTAs are at a point of outing, having an oversighter (or 2) would put this wiki at a lower risk for these attacks, or at least slow down/discourage them. Obviously, the ability of stewards to still intervene if I'm not around would still apply.

But I would like to request sysop (because it's needed for OS) and then also OS for wikitech.

Support if I may. If it helps I had these in the past for similar purposes (T151893). I am not sure if the dichotomy sysop vs. contentadmin still applies nowadays but Amanda can be trusted not to abuse any of them. Thanks.

@AmandaNP, does the custom contentadmin group on wikitech have all of the sysop related rights that would be needed? I believe that contentadmin grants everything that sysop does except editinterface although there may be some rights drift if sysop has gained new global permissions since we invented contentadmin.

@bd808 Yes, that contains everything I need to. Don't need to editinterface beause normal users can't do it.

bd808 claimed this task.

Thanks for volunteering to help with Wikitech moderation @AmandaNP. Hopefully we won't have much work for you, but it is always nice to have folks with a lot of experience around if and when the jerks show up.
