Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):
On Wikipedia, if I follow a link that takes me directly to a section (or sub-section) within an article or a talk page — for example "External link" here or "Proposition d'anecdote pour la page d'accueil" here — the section should have the style of the selected one in the ToC: bold type, automatically.
What happens?:
This is not happening when the section is placed at the very end of the page AND at the top of the screen an other section is still present. This section above (at the top of the screen) seems selected on the ToC in bold type instead, in my exemples:
- section "References" is shown in bold type instead of section "External link"
- section "Auteurs incomplets : aide souhaitée !" is shown in bold instead of section "Proposition d'anecdote pour la page d'accueil"
(notice to those who seek to replicate: these bold sections on the ToC should be different for different display resolutions)
Only the URL allows to understand where you has been redirected. This is confusing who arrives on the page via a direct link to a section.
Even if is not a common case, It is significant expecially when someone gives a link to an another user that leads to a discussion on long talk pages, as FAQ. Readers should be newbies.
What should have happened instead?:
- the section for which you arrived on the page should be always the one marked in bold type within the ToC
