De Gruyter Online access has expired
Closed, ResolvedPublicBUG REPORT

Description

several users reported that they can no longer access the contents of De Gruyter Online, see https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_Diskussion:Förderung/The_Wikipedia_Library#de_Gruyter

The problem was not completely reproducible. Martin Rulsch (WMDE) was able to partially reproduce the access problems, I myself still have access to all resources, even though I also see the notice "Ihre Institution hat kein Abonnement für die Inhalte dieser Zeitschrift." (= Your institution does not have a subscription for the contents of this journal) or "Nicht lizenziert" (= Not licensed) at https://www-degruyter-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/journal/key/jura/html#latestIssue but can still access the contents.

Event Timeline

I deleted the Library and the DeGruyter cookie before testing, and I cannot access any proprietary content on degruyter.com, either. It seems our subscription has expired and needs to be renwed. I think, it's as simple as that.

Same here. When clicking on the blue access-button, it says: We are sorry, but you are not authorized to access this resource. It may require an approved application to access. You can verify your eligibility at https://wikipedialibrary.wmflabs.org/. If you think you have reached this screen in error please contact The Wikipedia Library at wikipedialibrary@wikimedia.org.

Near the same: clicking the blue access-button, it says: "Should you have institutional access? Here's how to get it ..." on a yellow background. And I don't have access to restricted contents anymore.

Thanks for the report - we'll get in touch with De Gruyter.

WMDE has received feedback from volunteers that the access should be working again.

Gladly, I can confirm that it works again for me, too. DeGruyter is back again on the Library platform. Remains to be seen why the issue appeared only in some accounts. But this may remain unsolved, as everything seems to be back ti normal. Many thanks for your assistance!

seems to be running smoothly again
