Ability to "mention" other users in a post
Open, LowestPublic

Description

It would be nice if when posting in LQT there was a way to "mention" (can't think of a nicer name for this) other users so that they can be notified about the discussion.

eg:
<post about something>
(reply): I think @^demon; fixed this...etc etc...

which would result in a notification in their "My Messages" section.

This now exists with Echo (whenever bug 56311 is fixed), should this be WONTFIXED?

LiquidThreads has been replaced by StructuredDiscussions on all Wikimedia production wikis (except one, which will be done soon). It is no longer under active development or maintenance, so I'm re-classifying all open LQT tasks as "Lowest" priority.
