Thank you for submitting this for us @MBeat33! I thought it may be helpful to provide a few more details around what we're seeing in Civi.

In addition to the correction to the EoY receipt I think we may need look at why the "refund" is sometimes pulling into the "contributions" section as a separate line item in Civi? It seems that it may be related to chargebacks specifically.

For example, on the same CID Michael noted, CID 56996415, the chargeback is appearing in Civi as a separate “refund” line in the “contributions” section of Civi. The refund line is highlighted in red in the below image. You will notice the refund is also displaying on the original donation in the "status" section on the line below. This is highlighted in purple in the below image.

As you can see above it seems that sometimes refunds are appearing as a separate line item under "Contributions". Other examples of this are in CID 56813311, CID 12088703, and CID 56788230. In each of these CIDs the "refund line" appears to be created in Civi when chargebacks are being issued.

For an additional example, I did a quick search and found a recent chargeback in Adyen Transaction # 128238437.1 which is for CID 56750900. As you can see in the image below it also shows a separate line item for "refund". However, older chargebacks such as Adyen transaction # 130623842.1 for CID 56920068 from October 2022 do not seem to appear this way in Civi.

I also looked at a regular refund (not a chargeback) that was issued a few days ago in Adyen on CID 54057368. In the image below you can see that there is not a separate line item created for “Refund” and the refund is just noted under "status" on the original donation in grey.

This one is a bit hard to explain so please let me know if I didn't explain it well. :)

Okay I have deleted the 174 duplicate refund lines from the ones fixed in T351822: Ensure gross value is not empty in the refund messages. Still need to check and see what the currency difference lines show up as on EOY

The patch above has been deployed, this adds a year dropdown in the EOY preview pop up and lets you switch between years and preview the email for the selected year. By default it will preview the previous year.

Anything with type Refund (RFD in the id) will not show up on the EOY summaries.
