Consider auto-formatting Thumbor Python code with Black
Open, LowPublic

Description

Auto-formatting with Black would save developer and reviewer time and ensure code style consistency. Is this something we would like to use? Objections/support?

came accross this while looking for T211750 so ill close this in favour of that one

Just fyi this task is specific to Thumbor rather than org-wide. I'd be happy to take the lead from a larger discussion if we make it the standard for all python written at the foundation though

I hadn't noticed that, reopening the org wide discussion which is already some years old shouldn't block this. I would suggest looking at spicerack and wmflib repos which already has some Ci checks and a tox job to auto format
