Currently the user means needs many many steps to download a webm

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):

The word download would mean what it says again.

Currently here's what happens:

Start at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Landing_at_SFO_2022.07.06.webm

Okay now we observe the word download.

Now, Believe it or not, we need to carefully copy the URL out of this box:

Okay now we need to paste it into a new browser tab, and within the player there we finally find a real download button that works.

We choose it and indeed, praise the Lord, our download is actually downloading!

Okay, now let's step back and take a look at picture number two again. There are indeed some direct download links at the bottom there. However they are just to the jpg cover image, not to the webm media file itself.

Oh and by the way, there isn't even a initial download button unless one selects Desktop view way at the bottom of the wiki page.

Downloading requires two steps only: You right-click Original file and select Save Link as.

Yes, but most users won't know that secret, and will instead try the "Download" button.
