Legacy Turkish Wikiquote PNG logo has white borders
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello, there are white pixels around the Turkish Wikiquote logo. This can be seen by making the background black with an additional plugin. I noticed it when I used the Dark Reader plugin. Then I looked at English Wikiquote for comparison and realized that this problem does not exist. Can the logo of Turkish Wikiquote be replaced with that of English Wikiquote?

Hi @MustafaMVC, thanks for taking the time to report this! For future reference, please always include links and the skin you use.

This can be seen with the legacy blurry logo on https://tr.wikiquote.org/?useskin=vector which uses https://tr.wikiquote.org/static/images/project-logos/trwikiquote.png but not with the new logo on https://tr.wikiquote.org/?useskin=vector-2022 which uses https://tr.wikiquote.org/static/images/icons/wikiquote.svg

Yep, the problem, as explained on T329399, is that there isn't a trwikiquote logo on commons that respect the HD rule (it should be 135px wide x max. 155px tall). The current SVG logo becomes 135px x 207px when resized, so cannot be used. I can do the patch, adding an HD logo on vector legacy, when it will be uploaded, as I already said on the other task. Resizing the current logo out of proportion would only cause visibility issues for the logo. Thanks!

I am attaching the following screenshot for illustrative purposes. If you specify in a descriptive way what kind of svg file is needed, I can edit it and upload it to commons.

I tried to create it, please confirm if this is good, thanks :)

Excellent, thank you.

Done! @MustafaMVC Now the Vector legacy logo is the new HD version and shouldn't be white borders anymore! Let me know if something is wrong :)
