If I try to cite https://nieuws.ns.nl/spoorkaart-2023-hier-te-downloaden/ with "Cite" and "Automatic" in VisualEditor then the url is changed to https://bit.ly/3YslLe0 and cannot be saved. The HTML of https://nieuws.ns.nl/spoorkaart-2023-hier-te-downloaden/ says:

bit.ly and some other URL shorteners like tinyurl are on https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Spam_blacklist.
URLs should not be changed to URL shorteners no matter what the site recommends.
