Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where): As a crude approximation of the on-wiki "thanks" feature, it would be cool to have a "Thanks" token on phabricator (probably 🙏, though I know not everyone thinks that emoji is a good cross-cultural way to say "thanks")

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution): Thanking after a comment is a light-weight way to express appreciation to someone's comment. One could also show thanks/appreciation for an entire task.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?): To provide an easy way to give positive feedback and appreciation.

Event Timeline

Aklapper moved this task from To Triage to Needs code (in Phab or bot) on the Phabricator board.

U+1F64F Person with folded hands - can indicate sorrow or regret, can also indicate pleading, praying, bowing, or thanking

So I'm not convinced about this one. Anyone has a better idea (or why medals and thumbs don't suffice)?

I'm not entirely convinced myself. But if it's low effort to implement, it might be nice to try and see how it's used.

A 🙏 token (and all tokens generally) would be more useful as a reaction to individual comments, but I don't think that's coming any time soon.
