Toolforge: mix-n-match modifies my username in an offensive way
Closed, ResolvedPublic

What is the problem?

I would like to report a problem related to the modification of the Mix'n'match application code by the user Magnus Manske. As a result of these modifications, part of my actions are being signed with the name 'Silly Matlin', instead of my real username, 'Matlin'. The term 'silly' has a derogatory meaning in English and is considered offensive according to Wiki standards.

I have already asked Magnus to remove this inappropriate designation, but unfortunately he has refused to comply with my requests. Therefore, I am turning to you to request your intervention in this matter and to remove my false username from the Mix'n'match application.

How can a maintainer recreate the problem?

It's visible for everyone, for example at Jobs page:

I confirm that "Silly Matlin" has been appearing in Mix'n'Match edits, but it is a straight lie that I "refused to comply". Not entirely surprising though. Anyway, it's a real issue, but User:Solidest seems to have found a bug, which I just saw since I don't follow the [[User_talk:Silly_Matlin]] page. I will look into it, again.

This should do it. Tested and seems to work.

Pppery assigned this task to Magnus.
