Investigate Issue with "Dim Images" Setting in Black and Dark Themes
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi

The “dim images” setting in the Black and Dark themes only seems to work when tapping to view an image directly, it doesn’t work when seeing images whilst scrolling down through an article - these ones are not dimmed.

Thank you

Version: WikipediaApp/7.3.0.2242 (iOS 16.5.1; Phone)

Using the Black reading theme and with the setting “dim images” switched on…

An article in the Explore feed shows a dimmed image (in fact all images are dimmed in the Explore feed):

unnamed (10).png (750×1,334 px, 425 KB)

Tapping into the article, you see the first image at the top of the article and it is NOT dimmed (if any other article images are included and are seen as you scroll down they will be not dimmed either):

unnamed (11).png (750×1,334 px, 510 KB)

Tapping the image brings up the image viewing page whereupon the image IS dimmed:

unnamed (12).png (750×1,334 px, 886 KB)
