Scope out analysis work for upcoming Trust and Safety Tools Survey
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

  • Is there a repo with R code which can be leveraged?
  • how long does this work usually take?
  • What prep work is needed?
  • What post data cleaning work is needed?
  • What else should be considered?
  1. Staffing.

deployment and undeployment of the survey can be done by the engineering team.
survey analysis staffing TBD

  1. Timing. When will the MVP go into production? Are you thinking that the baseline survey should go out this quarter? On previous surveys, how much time have you needed to setup up the survey?

Don't expect the MVP to go into production earlier than late Q3. We don’t need to baseline survey to go out this quarter but we should think about doing it around January.

  1. Previous surveys. Previous surveys ran until at least 450 responses were received.

Previous survey work done by Tanja Andic for Trust and Safety: T311079, T303956, T303736 for a completely different project. In this case, GDI did all the preparatory work, T&ST did the deployment/undeployment of the survey.

Active Needs: Survey privacy statement is needed

Survey questions:
Q1: “do you know how to get help if you are harassed on this project?”.
Q2: [In the first survey, we should add a free-text question asking the users where they would go to get help (a follow-up multiple-choice question would be too leading and is impossible in QuickSurveys).]

Event Timeline

@Madalina How many languages will be involved in the survey? on which wikis will the survey be deployed?

how many are languages are involved? The number of languages involved is the biggest predictor of time needed given translation, different data sets and weights etc.

Steps:

  1. translation
  2. data cleaning... Previous data cleaning was done via Google sheets (finding duplicates, correction, weight application, etc.)
  3. analysis
  4. reporting translation as needed

From my meeting with Madalina today: the MVP is currently planning to roll out to two wikis (Korean & Indonesian). Thus the survey would run on two wikis.

Update: @Madalina notes that @TAndic will be supporting this work. This task can now be closed.

Iflorez triaged this task as Medium priority.
