The Wikimedia Release-Engineering-Team is in the process of cleaning up inactive Gerrit repositories.

If the repository labs/maps.git is still in use, please leave a short comment in this task and set the task status to Invalid.
Otherwise the Gerrit repository may get archived in the future.

If the repository is not in use anymore, you are also welcome to leave a short comment to confirm.

I wonder if anyone who has been a bit involved in maps stuff remembers? @dschwen @TheDJ (sorry if I'm wrong but these names come to my mind)

Pretty sure this was to puppetize tiles.wmflabs.org when it had to move from toolserver to labs. Likely osmdb was split off into a separate puppet config managed by infra back in 2013 and the tile rendering part of this got forgotten about and ppl just copy pasted some stuff to tiles.wmflabs.org to get it working when the toolserver got decommissioned

Would have loved to have know about this, like… 6 years ago. ;)
