Notifications have no close affordance. tapping the banner implies progressive action, so it looks like there's no way to dismiss these notifications without actioning them. A small "x" button or a "close" button in the same style as our "hide" buttons for side menus would make it more accessible and usable.

Beyond this, the fact that these notifications float over existing content, means that users with narrower screens have no way to view some page content without either dismissing or actioning the banner. Ideally, the notifications would push the content down below and no longer float in a similar layout to our central notice banners.
