“Top read” widget only works reliably in US time zones (noted since travelling there).
Australian time zones show no information for most of the day.
Only a problem since iOS 17.
Possibly relates to defining what day it actually is in each time zone.
The issue persists with the most current version of iOS Wikipedia and the latest versions of iOS and iPad OS.
Attached are screenshots of the widget (showing most read as blank) and simultaneously from the actual app (where most read is working properly).
Of note is that I am currently in eastern Australia (UTC+11 hrs). Using the same device when I travelled in USA recently, the widget worked perfectly. Presumably then, it has something to do with the timezone differences causing confusion as to what time period to use for defining “most read”?
A similar thing happens in the Dictionary.com app. The widget displays a different “word of the day” from the actual app in this time zone.
Version: WikipediaApp/7.4.6.2972 (iPadOS 17.2; Tablet)

@Tsevener For me it's just the widget that is not working—the Top read card is always there in the Explore feed. (Screenshots taken 1 minute apart.)

@gymate Ah ok good to know, perhaps I wasn't testing correctly. It looks like your "top read" card is under the "Yesterday" section heading - do you see any top read cards under the "Today" section? I do in the U.S.

@Tsevener Oh, I see! I think I get the issue now.
When the widget works, the card appears in both sections (image only visible on click):
But as soon as midnight passes and the widget doesn't work, it only appears in the Yesterday section indeed (BTW the Today header is also missing):
It really looks like it's a time zone issue. (I'm in Hungary which is UTC+1.)
