Indicwiki Women's Hackathon 2024

Our project aims to streamline the process of finding credible sources for Wikipedia editors, addressing the time-consuming nature of manual searches. By providing a tool that automates and simplifies the search for reliable sources, we aim to enhance the efficiency of the article creation process on Wikipedia. This tool is designed to assist editors, researchers, and content creators in quickly identifying and incorporating trustworthy citations, ultimately contributing to the overall quality and credibility of Wikipedia articles.

I just learned about this project and am interested in how the results of Hackathons could be more visible and linked to similar projects. I'm thinking about {T155846: Reference recommender system} (from @Halfak) and projects like the Guided Article Creation.

@SEgt-WMF Thanks for bringing this up! I'll take it into account along with this model on Language-agnostic reference risk: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Machine_learning_models/Production/Language-agnostic_reference_risk in one of our hypothesis for this first half of the year as we move on to guidance while editing and making the workflow more scalable with less community dependency overall.
