While working on unifying the tabs on the function view page we also explored an opportunity to improve the experience of use for the about widget, especially with translators and multi-lingual contributors in mind.

This proposal lets editor compare languages without closing the dialog, plus enables contributors to add more than one language at a time.

If we choose to address this, it may be beneficial to explore the Language team's work on content and section translation, as their approaches could also inform improvements to the About widget.
